Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan Season 9 To Return On Diwali? Here’s What We Know

Are viewers about to spend Diwali with  ? The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani filmmaker recently shared that his show would be coming back by October 2026, just in time for the Indian holiday. Since its debut in 2004, the talk show has had quite a journey. It moved from television to streaming and featured Bollywood and Hollywood stars such as Richard Gere, industralists and athletes in its 18-year run. When it returns this year, how will Karan raise the stakes? The director also hosts the Indian remake of  , which is also coming back for Season 2.

Koffee with Karan to return by Diwali?

In an interview with The Week, an audience member asked Karan when the JioHotstar show could come back. The director smiled and said, “Diwali. Season 9.” The last season of was released in October 2023 and ended in January 2024. The past season saw power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh (who guested on the premiere episode), siblings Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and cousins Rani Mukerji and Kajol. Other celebs who stopped by his show to chat included Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, Neetu Singh, and Zeenat Aman.

A recent report in Mid-Day had stated that when the show would be back for its ninth season, several changes would be made. The show would expand its guest list to more South stars, streaming actors and even content creators. Previously, Prabhas, SS Rajamouli and Rana Daggubati had appeared on Season 6, while Vijay Deverakonda made his Koffee debut in Season 7 with his Liger co-star Ananya Panday. The report also stated that certain segments would be trimmed and made more relevant for audiences.

Produced by Dharmatic, the first six seasons of Koffee with Karan aired on Star World from 2004 to 2019. In 2022, it moved over to streaming, which was then called Disney+ Hotstar. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol were the first guests of Koffee with Karan on November 19, 2004.
