This whole matter came to light when District Magistrate (DM) Jitendra Kumar Singh showed a generosity. The incident occurred during the ‘Janta Darshan’ programme, where common people directly meet officials and explain their problems.

Two girls named Isba Khan and Maryam Fatima had reached there with their mother Shanno. According to a report in India Today, he complained that during a family dispute, someone broke his piggy bank and took out the money deposited in it.
Girls wanted their savings
According to the family, both the sisters had earlier gone to the nearby police station for help. But there he was reportedly turned away saying it was a small domestic matter and no action was taken. Not accepting defeat, the girls decided to meet the District Magistrate directly. During the conversation, Isba revealed that she had gradually accumulated coins, pocket money and gifts from relatives. She wanted to buy a school bag and other essential things with that money. Officials present at the hearing said that the girls looked very sad after losing their savings.
The atmosphere changed due to DM’s action
Hearing this complaint, District Magistrate Jitendra Kumar Singh directed the local police to investigate the matter. After this, he called the girls to him and ordered new clay piggy banks and school bags for both the sisters. In an emotional moment, the DM himself put Rs 1,000 each in both the piggy banks and told the girls that their savings were back.

The girls who had come crying immediately had a smile on their faces and folded their hands and thanked them. His mother also thanked the officer for listening to her seriously.
Later, the District Magistrate said that it was good to see that children are learning the habit of saving money from an early age.
