The wife of a businessman who went missing four months ago was murdered in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The police have arrested the accused gym trainer. The police is also interrogating him for further investigation. During interrogation, accused gym trainer Vimal told about burying the body near the DM residence. When the police excavated that place, a skeleton was actually recovered from there.
When Ekta, wife of a gym trainer and businessman, went missing from the day of the incident, a report was lodged by the woman’s husband on June 24. The police had got the mobile locations of both of them known. Even at that time, the location of both was found to be Nanarao Park, which is right next to the DM residence complex. After burying Ekta’s body, the gym trainer went away from Kanpur. So that the police could not find anything about him, he reached Punjab.
Worked in a hotel in Punjab
During interrogation, the accused told that he was hiding and living at different places after the incident. He also worked in a hotel in Punjab for a few days. During that time he did not even talk to anyone. The hotel owner from Punjab also asked him why he was hiding and missing. The gym trainer used to avoid the matter in some way or the other.
Nephew took clothes to Central Station
When the police went to the gym trainer’s house for questioning, they got the number of one of his nephews. Through him the gym trainer’s sister was reached. The police came to know that at around 8 pm the nephew had gone to the Central Station with gym trainer clothes.
After the arrest, the accused now told that he had killed Ekta on the same day. This means that after killing and burying the body, the accused Vimal Soni had escaped by train. Whereas, the family members of the deceased and the police were thinking that both of them had absconded together. At present, the police are continuously interrogating.
Why did it take 4 months?
It took the police 4 months to catch the accused. The biggest reason for this was that accused Vimal Soni did not use mobile phone at all. Neither did he make a normal call or message nor did he make a WhatsApp call. Because of this the police was not getting any information about him.
How was the body buried in the DM residence complex?
The police is still interrogating the accused but one question still remains that how was it possible to go to a place where city officials live, dig a pit and bury the body easily?
