A tragic incident has been reported from Kannur, where an MBBS student has died by drowning. The student, Anirudh Krishnan from Coimbatore, drowned in the Anivayal pond in Azhikode.
Kannur: An MBBS student tragically died after drowning in a pond at Azhikode in Kannur. The deceased has been identified as Anirudh Krishnan, a native of Coimbatore. The incident took place at the Anivayal pond, where Anirudh had reportedly gone with a friend around 2 pm.
According to reports, Anirudh entered the water but drowned shortly afterwards. His friend and others alerted the authorities, following which the Fire Force was called to the spot. A search operation was launched, and the rescue team eventually recovered Anirudh’s body from the pond.

The body was shifted to a nearby hospital for further procedures. It will be handed over to his family after the completion of the post-mortem examination. The incident has left his family, friends and fellow students in shock.
