New Delhi: Suriya and Bobby Deol starrer Kanguva shows some scenic locations of Goa. From running rivers to mountains and forests, the movie’s past timeline also captures some picturesque locations.
From locations in India to international spots, Kanguva is a visual spectacle.
On it’s opening day, the film earned Rs 24 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. However, as per the early estimates, the film is likely to witness a huge dip in its collection. According to Sacnilk, the film is expected to earn only Rs 9 crore, making the two-day collection Rs 33 crore.
Kanguva shooting location
Koratala Siva’s directorial Kanguva has been shot in seven real-life locations including India and abroad. Suriya and Bobby Deol starrer has been shot in Goa, Europe, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The Tamil film, which is made on a budget of Rs 350 crore, filmed the jungle scenes in Kerala and Kodaikanal forests. The movie has also been shot in Bangkok with Alexa Super 35 and Alexa LF cameras to capture action scenes. It has also been shot in Rajahmundry, a city in Andhra Pradesh.

The film runs two timelines parallel – a pre-historic era and the present. Suriya is seen in a dual role of Kanguva and Francis. The film was released in theatres on November 14 and opened to mixed reviews. The movie is a fantasy drama that revolves around Kanguva and Francis whose past gets connected mysteriously through a child. Though the film’s script is weak, VFX and CGI work is remarkable.
The film also stars Disha Patani, Yogi Babu and Karthi in a cameo role. Makers have even announced the sequel of Kanguva, Kanguva 2, starring Suriya as the protagonist and Karthi as the main antagonist.
