Story and star cast of the film
The film, based on the ancient Greek poem by Homer, follows King Odysseus (Matt Damon) on his dangerous journey back to Ithaca after the Trojan War, which also includes battles with mythical creatures. He attempts to reunite with his wife, Penelope (Anne Hathaway), and son, Telemachus (Tom Holland). The film became a victim of online piracy
‘The Odyssey’ also recently became a victim of online piracy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a low-quality version was posted on X as recently as Sunday morning, but was removed about two hours later. It had already been viewed nearly 50,000 times before it was removed.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures responded to the film’s leak on social media. “We became aware of the unauthorized posting of the film and immediately initiated the process of removing it. We take copyright infringement seriously and will take all appropriate measures to protect our content and intellectual property rights,” the statement said.
Great earnings at the box office
Despite pirated films, ‘The Odyssey’ still dominates the box office. The film has crossed the $600 million mark globally in its second weekend. (ANI)
