1- Restrictions on sale of petrol and diesel will be removed

The government had imposed some temporary restrictions on the sale of petrol and diesel on June 12 amid the West Asia crisis. Under these rules, only a maximum of 200 liters of diesel could be given to a customer or vehicle in a day. Also, big industrial and commercial customers were instructed to take fuel from designated consumer pumps instead of retail petrol pumps. The aim of these steps was to stop hoarding and black marketing. Now the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has issued an order on June 29 and decided to end these restrictions from July 1.

2- There may be change in the prices of LPG, CNG, PNG and ATF

On the first of every month, oil marketing companies review the prices of fuel and gas. In this sequence, new prices of commercial LPG cylinder, CNG, PNG and Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) may be released on July 1. There has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders for the last few months, so this time consumers will keep an eye on the new rates.

3- Updating email in Aadhaar will be free

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has given a big relief related to Aadhaar. From July 1 to December 31, adding or updating email address in Aadhaar through the new Aadhaar mobile app will be completely free. Earlier a fee of Rs 75 had to be paid for this. This facility will be available only on the new Aadhaar app. For updating email through other means, the prescribed fee will have to be paid as before. UIDAI is shutting down the old mAadhaar app and replacing it with a new, more secure and better-featured Aadhaar app.

The Ministry of External Affairs has amended the passport fees under the Passport (Amendment) Rules, 2026. The new fees will be applicable from July 1. After about 14 years, a major change has been made in the passport fee. The new fees will be as follows.

After amendment in Section 137 and 138 of the Railway Act, 1989, the minimum fine has been increased from Rs 250 to Rs 500. Railways says that its objective is to stop ticketless travel and strengthen the ticket checking system. However, there has been no change in the maximum punishment. If found guilty, the punishment can be jail term up to six months, fine up to Rs 1,000, or both.

6- Credit card rules will also change

From July 1, SBI Card will change the rules of reward points available on some PhonePe SBI Credit Cards. HDFC Bank is also updating the rules of its Regalia Gold Credit Card.
