Hemant Soren’s party has put in all its strength in the effort to return to power in Jharkhand. On one hand, Hemant himself is a contender for the post of CM, while on the other hand, huge crowds are gathering in the rallies of his wife Kalpana Soren. There are three more characters of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha contesting the elections on both their faces. It is being said in the political circles of Ranchi that all three of them are writing the script behind the scenes to make Hemant Soren the Chief Minister for the second consecutive time.
These three names are Supriyo Bhattacharya, Vinod Pandey and Abhishek Prasad alias Pintu. All three leaders are considered close to Hemant Soren. All three have been doing organizational politics for a long time instead of mainstream politics.
JMM is contesting elections on the face of Hemant-Kalpana
This time Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is fighting the assembly elections on the face of Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren. On one hand, while Hemant is holding 2 rallies daily in the beginning, Kalpana is holding 3 big rallies as well as small meetings.
For the first time, there is a woman leader in the political center of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Through imagination, Hemant is engaged in the effort of empowering women of tribal and other backward classes. Kalpana is making Jharkhand’s identity and women’s respect a big issue in her rally.
Now the story of those 3 leaders
1. Abhishek Prasad Pintu- Abhishek Prasad alias Pintu, who comes from Kayastha community, is considered the eyes and ears of Hemant Soren. It is even said in political circles that Pintu is closest to Hemant. When Hemant became the Chief Minister in 2019, Pintu was made media advisor.
In 2024, when the Enforcement Directorate tightened its grip on Hemant, Pintu also came under the scanner. However, now along with Hemant, Pintu is also in the election field. JMM has appointed Pintu as its star campaigner.
According to JMM sources, Pintu is mainly working to implement all the planning of Hemant. Recently, JMM defeated 6 big leaders of BJP in a single day. This was the biggest political operation of JMM in the history of Jharkhand.
Pintu played a big role in this work of Hemant. It is said that in the night itself everyone was called one by one to Hemant’s residence and made to join the party. Apart from this, Pintu also looks after the election strategy.
Pintu is also playing an important role in deciding Hemant’s platform and issues.
2. Supriyo Bhattacharya- Bengali Brahmin Supriyo Bhattacharya is the national general secretary and spokesperson of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Supriyo is also the biggest TV face of JMM. However, this time Supriyo is playing a big role behind the scenes in making the election strategy.
Supriyo looks after JMM’s election related issues. Supriyo himself prepares the strategy on which issues the Commission and BJP should be brought on the backfoot. Recently, two big issues raised by him made a lot of headlines in the politics of Jharkhand.
Supriyo alleged that the Commission has reduced the voting time in rural areas, on which the Commission had to give clarification. Similarly, Supriyo had raised the issue of kidnapping of Hemant’s proposer in Barhet.
It is said that BJP wanted to play in Barhet by bringing Hemant’s proponent into its fold, but Supriyo diverted the issue by holding a press conference.
Supriyo is also looking after the work of media management. There was talk of him contesting from Jamshedpur in the recent Lok Sabha elections, but Hemant kept him in the organization. Supriyo started politics under the supervision of Hemant’s father Shibu Soren.
3. Vinod Kumar Pandey- Jharkhand Mukti Morcha General Secretary Vinod Kumar Pandey is also writing the script of victory behind the scenes. Pandey is playing a big role in everything from candidate selection to talks with allies and stopping the rebellion.
Pandey is known as the leader of the organization within JMM. He has direct interference in major decisions of the party. Pandey came close to the Soren family through Shibu Soren’s elder son Durga Soren.
He is considered close to Hemant Soren. It is said that when JMM was going through political crisis, Vinod Kumar Pandey played an important role in the political launching of Kalpana Soren.
When Hemant came from jail, Vinod Pandey along with Kalpana were on his stage.
