System woke up after paper leak

After the issue of paper leak in NEET exam, there is a demand for improvement in the examination system across the country. Due to this, the Central Government is thinking of major changes in the entrance examinations of engineering and medical.

According to the proposal before the government, students seeking admission in engineering and medical will have to appear in only one examination at the national level. In this entrance test, there will be separate sections of Mathematics for engineering students and Biology section for medical students.

Age and attempt limit will also be fixed

The government is also considering fixing the age limit and number of attempts to take the exam. Apart from this, to reduce the pressure on students, discussions are also going on to conduct the examination in several phases and sessions.

This information was given to a parliamentary committee by National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Abhishek Singh and Higher Education Secretary Vineet Joshi. This committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Congress leader Digvijay Singh. Officer Dr. Radhakrishnan was giving a presentation on the committee’s recommendations and examination reforms.

It is reported that the members of the parliamentary committee have considered this new system to be better and administratively more effective than the existing system. Along with this, NTA is also preparing to stop rigging. The agency will increase its control over the question paper preparation process and strengthen its own technology infrastructure to reduce dependence on outsiders.
