Japanese Prime Minister Sanai Takaichi reached New Delhi on a three-day visit. Union Minister Jitendra Singh welcomed him. She will attend the 15th India-Japan annual summit with PM Modi, which aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
New Delhi [भारत]July 2 (ANI): Japan on Thursday expressed its enthusiasm over Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s visit to India as he arrived in New Delhi. “Our heartfelt thanks for your warm welcome. We are very excited to visit India!” the Japanese Cabinet Public Relations Officer said in a post on Twitter.
Earlier on Wednesday, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh welcomed Takaichi on his arrival. In a post on X, he said, “On behalf of the Government of India, I am honored to welcome His Excellency Sanai Takaichi, Prime Minister of Japan, on his arrival at Palam Technical Airport, New Delhi late this evening. He is on a 3-day visit to India, where his engagements include the “15th India-Japan Annual Summit”. The visit assumes special significance in the backdrop of the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.”
PM Modi welcomed
Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Sanae Takaichi to India, saying he was “delighted” to host him on his maiden visit to the country and looked forward to discussions aimed at further strengthening the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership. In a post on Twitter after Takaichi’s arrival in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi said the two leaders will hold wide-ranging discussions on bilateral and regional issues. Currently he is on a three-day official visit to India.
“Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, you are very welcome to India. We are delighted to host you on your maiden visit to India and I look forward to our wide-ranging discussions tomorrow that will further deepen the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership,” the Prime Minister said in his post. He further said, “Through our joint efforts, we will continue to promote peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.”
Cooperation with India is very important: Takaichi
Earlier, the Japanese PM had said that amid increasing uncertainties in the global arena, cooperation with India becomes even more important. “Amid growing uncertainty in the international situation, the importance of cooperation with India, which shares fundamental values and strategic interests, is only increasing,” he said.
Takaichi said the purpose of his visit is to promote cooperation between companies from the two countries in the direction of investment and innovation. He said, “I intend to pursue concrete cooperation with Prime Minister Modi focused on three points: deepening strategic cooperative relations between Japan and India, promoting cooperation in economic security, and promoting cooperation between companies from the two countries towards investment and innovation.”
The Japanese Prime Minister said that by uniting the government and private sectors, he aims to broaden the scope of Japan-India cooperation.
Takaichi has reached New Delhi on a three-day official visit from July 1 to July 3 at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi. (ANI)
