The makers of ‘Jailer 2’ have released another song from the much-awaited Rajinikanth-starrer, with ‘One Name’ arriving as a high-energy track centred on the superstar’s character, Muthuvel Pandian.
The song begins with the distinctive “Sera Se Cosera” humming that was heard in the recently released glimpse of the film. The track continues the larger-than-life musical treatment associated with Rajinikanth’s character in the franchise.
‘One Name’ has been composed by Anirudh, who also lends his voice to the song. Yogisekar, Jagadeesh Kumar, Balraj, Sridhar Sena, Shenbagaraj and Govind Prasad are among the other vocalists featured in the track. Super Subu has penned the lyrics.
The song also connects the sequel with the original ‘Jailer’. A portion of ‘Hukum’, the popular track from the 2023 film, has been incorporated into the new release.
The accompanying lyric video offers glimpses from the making of ‘Jailer 2’, including visuals of Rajinikanth appearing in bloodied attire.
Directed by Nelson, the sequel brings back several members of the original cast, including Ramya Krishnan, Shivarajkumar, Yogi Babu, Jaffer Sadiq, Vinayakan and Mirnaa.
The sequel also features Vijay Sethupathi, S J Suryah, Vidya Balan, Anna Rajan, Hakkim Shah, Bagavathi Perumal, Meghana Raj, Shamna Kasim and Jatin Sarna in new roles.
Mohanlal is also reportedly set to return as the underworld don he played in the first film. There have been reports about possible appearances by Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Mithun Chakraborty, although those casting reports should be distinguished from officially confirmed details.
The technical crew includes editor R Nirmal, cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, art director DRK Kiran, costume designers Pallavi Singh and Muthul Hafeez, and stunt choreographer Chethan D’Souza. ‘Jailer 2’ is scheduled to reach theatres worldwide on October 15.
