Jai Shah, who took over the chair of the ICC President last year, has recently taken a big decision to help Afghan women. He has started a new initiative with the Board of Control for Cricket in India, England and Wales and Cricket Australia. Under this, a task force has been formed for the displaced women cricketers of Afghanistan. This will help talented Afghan women players not only in their cricket career but also at a personal level.

Australia cricket got together

After the Taliban government’s rule in Afghanistan, many things have been banned, including women’s reading, participation in sports. However, his decision was not liked by the England and Australia Cricket Board at all, due to which he refused to play with Afghanistan’s men’s team citing women empowerment. At the same time, now with England-Australia, along with BCCI and ICC, Afghan women have come forward to help the players.

Women players will get help

The Task Force Afghan created by the ICC will provide necessary assistance and resource to the women players. Along with advanced training, high level resources, they will also get mental facility to improve skills. Talking about this matter, Jay Shah said that,

“The entire team of ICC is committed to get an opportunity to get success, no matter what circumstances come in front of him. We are proud of the formation of this task force and fund fund with the support of their partners. We want to ensure that the displaced women cricketers of Afghanistan can take ahead under this high-performance program.”
