YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy congratulated Skyroot Aerospace on the successful launch of India’s first private orbital rocket Vikram-1. He described it as a symbol of the extraordinary capabilities of the country’s scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs.
Following the successful orbital launch of Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed launch vehicle, YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday lauded the efforts of the scientists and others involved in the mission. In a post on Twitter, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh congratulated Skyroot Aerospace, saying that their success has inspired a new era of innovation and technological excellence for our country. Jagan Reddy said, “Congratulations to Skyroot Aerospace on the successful launch of #Vikram1, a historic achievement as India’s first privately developed orbital launch vehicle. This milestone reflects the extraordinary capabilities of our scientists, engineers, innovators and entrepreneurs. This is a significant step forward in India’s space ecosystem. Wishing the entire team continued success as they inspire a new era of innovation and technological excellence for our country.”
Historic Mission ‘Arrival’
Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-1 Test Flight-1 has successfully reached orbit, marking the maiden flight of India’s first privately developed orbital-class rocket. The rocket completed its final burn and placed its payload into an orbit of about 450 km, making India the third country in the world to have a private orbital launch capability. This mission named ‘Mission Arrival’ was executed from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
Technical characteristics of the rocket
The 24-metre long carbon-composite rocket completed all scheduled flight phases, including stage separation and firing of its Orbital Adjustment Module (OAM). The Orbital Adjustment Module fired its 3D-printed liquid engine for the final push to orbit. This module is designed to start, stop and restart in space. During flight, Kalam-1200, which is a solid first stage, took the rocket through the densest part of the atmosphere and then separated cleanly. The payload fairing was then separated, bringing the satellites into contact with space for the first time.
PM Modi praised
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Skyroot Aerospace on the successful launch of Vikram-1. He described this as a defining moment in India’s space journey and said that the increasing participation of the private sector is opening new frontiers and accelerating innovation. (ANI)
