Benjamin Netanyahu on India-Israel Relation: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu openly praised India on Sunday and said that India is one of the biggest supporters of Israel. He disagreed with the remarks of US Vice President JD Vance, in which Vance had said that Israel has no “powerful ally” other than America. In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu said that Israel enjoys very strong support in India.
Netanyahu said- We get tremendous support in India
During the interview, Netanyahu said that Israel has many friends and India is one of the most important countries among them. He said, “We also have some other friends, like India. There are 1.4 billion people living there and frankly speaking we get tremendous support there.” It is noteworthy that Netanyahu has faced a lot of criticism at the international level in recent times regarding the conflicts related to Gaza, Iran and Lebanon.
What did Netanyahu say on JD Vance’s statement?
Netanyahu said he respects US Vice President JD Vance and considers US President Donald Trump Israel’s “best friend” in the White House. However, he also made it clear that he does not agree with everything Vance says. “I respect him, but that doesn’t mean I agree with everything he says, and I have to say that,” he said.
What did Vance say?
A few weeks ago, JD Vance advised Israel that it should avoid confrontation with its “only powerful ally”, the United States. During a press briefing at the White House, Vance said, “If I were in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I would not attack our only powerful ally left in the world.” Vance made this comment while defending the memorandum made by the US towards a ceasefire with Iran.
Claim of support from India on social media
Netanyahu claimed that he is getting a large number of support from India on the social media platform Facebook. He also said that anti-Israel and anti-Semitic content is seen on social media in many countries of the world. Without naming any country, Netanyahu said that leaders of many countries personally want to maintain good relations with Israel. Netanyahu’s big claim regarding Lebanon
While talking to Fox News, Netanyahu also clarified his government’s stance regarding Lebanon. He claimed that some Christian villages in southern Lebanon have expressed a desire to join Israel in order to seek protection from Hezbollah militants. According to him, “Some Christian villages in Lebanon have actually sought to join Israel, because we protect them from Hezbollah radicals who want to kill them. We protect Christians everywhere.”
