Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [भारत]June 30 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday paid tribute to former Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani on his birth anniversary. He described Rohani as an ideal legislator and speaker, whose life and work continue to inspire public representatives. CM Yadav along with Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar paid floral tributes to the portrait of Ishwar Das Rohani in the state assembly today.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion, the Chief Minister praised Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, who has started the tradition of celebrating the birth anniversaries of eminent persons who have made significant contributions to the state as Assembly Speakers and Chief Ministers. The CM said, “Our Assembly Speaker, Narendra Singh Tomar has started a tradition of celebrating the birth anniversary of eminent personalities who have made immense contributions in various fields, especially former Assembly Speakers and Chief Ministers. In this connection, we are here to mark the birth anniversary of late Ishwar Das Rohani.”
CM remembered Rohani’s political journey
Recalling Rohani’s political journey, the Chief Minister said that he was first elected to the Madhya Pradesh Assembly in 1993 and won four consecutive elections from Jabalpur. He said Rohani earned immense respect among the people of his constituency, especially for his commitment to serving the poor and promoting development.
The CM also praised Rohani’s conduct in the Assembly, saying that he always expressed his views with honesty and clarity, whether the matter was about the ruling party or the opposition. The CM said, “Whether it was the ruling party or the opposition, he always put forth the truth without any hesitation and remained dedicated to his work. He was an ideal Assembly Speaker. We will always remember him for his contribution and will continue to draw inspiration from his work.”
Speaker Tomar also paid tribute
Meanwhile, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar also paid tribute to former Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani on his birth anniversary, saying that it was his good fortune that he got the opportunity to work with him in the state assembly as well as in the party. Tomar said, “He was known as an outstanding MLA in the Assembly. His tenure as Assembly Speaker was undoubtedly historic and exemplary. Also, as a party functionary, he always expressed his views with great conviction. He lived his entire life on the principle of ‘Nation First, Party Second’. Once a decision was taken, Ishwar Das Rohani would follow it with unwavering commitment.”
He said that every public representative and party worker should learn from the discipline that defined his life and try to follow his example. (ANI)
