IPL 2025 Auction: RCB keeping an eye on Dravid’s son’s friend, does mystery bowling, has also taken training from Virat Kohli

IPL 2025: Before the IPL auction, RCB is looking for its superstar among the local talents of the country. According to reports, RCB has taken trials of many young Indian players, including a player who is known for his mystery bowling. This player has not played any first class match or List A match till now but Virat Kohli’s team is keeping an eye on him. The interesting thing is that this player is a friend of Dravid’s son Samit Dravid and the name of this player is Deepak Devadiga.

Who is Deepak Devadiga?

Deepak Devadiga is a right-arm spinner who is known for his mystery bowling. Deepak recently played in the Maharaja Trophy. He was a part of the Mysore Warriors team that won this tournament. Devadiga took 5 wickets in this tournament. His performance was nothing special but this player’s bowling attracted everyone’s attention. Actually, Deepak troubles the batsman with his mystery bowling. He is very fast in the air and his ball spins both inside and outside. It is very difficult to understand the ball by reading his hands. Deepak has also been a net bowler for RCB and has learned a lot from Virat Kohli.

A total of 11 players were tested

Royal Challengers Bangalore has taken trials of many big players before the auction. A big name in this is Ashutosh Sharma who played for Punjab Kings last season. Ashutosh Sharma had performed brilliantly as a finisher. One name among these players is Angkrish Raghuvanshi who was a part of the KKR team. This player has the ability to bat well at number 3.

Apart from these, Manimaran Siddharth was also tried, who was a part of Lucknow Supergiants team. This player bowls economically. Siddharth knows the job of spin bowling very well, especially in the powerplay. RCB also took trial of fast bowler Gurjapneet Singh, who bowled Virat Kohli in practice. This player’s left arm pace is currently in discussion in domestic cricket.
