The company is now preparing 1 of every 5 iphone sold worldwide in India. That is, in easy language, about 20 percent production is being done in India. At the same time, the government also wants to increase manufacturing in India under Make in India.
India is no longer a hub
Apple and its suppliers such as Foxconn, Wistron (now near Tata) and Patron are all adopting India as a manufacturing hub, and production here is also happening very fast. This change started since when Apple’s biggest factory was shocked due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
Where are iPhone in India?
Most of the iPhone made in India are assembled in the Foxcony factory located in South India. Apart from this, Tata Electronics, which has acquired the Indian business of Vistron and is now also handling the units of Vistron. Similarly, the scope of Apple’s production network in India is also increasing continuously.
Export powerhouse
Now iPhone manufacturing in India is not limited to the domestic market, now these devices are reaching the world, especially in America. The IT minister of the country, which was on April 8, said that till March 2025, Apple has exported about 1.5 trillion rupees iPhones in India.
Apple is shifting towards India
In the recent times, Apple’s focus is slowly shifting towards India. Apple may take about 8 years to get 10 percent production capacity out of China, but has started from India.
