Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora on Friday recorded his statement in front of the committee, who was allegedly investigating a huge amount of cash while extinguishing the fire in the official residence of Delhi High Court Judge Justice Yashwant Verma. Apart from this, the statement of Devesh Mahal, Deputy Commissioner of New Delhi district, was also recorded.
According to sources, the Chief Justice of the country (CJI) Sanjeev Khanna has formed a three -judge committee to investigate the matter. In front of which Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora had reached the guest house of Haryana government in Chanakyapuri on Friday evening to record the statement.
After recording the statement, the police commissioner left from there at around 8 am. Sources said that during this time he recorded his statement in front of the committee and the members also asked him many questions. Sanjay Arora’s statement is most important in this whole case as he was the one who first informed Chief Justice of Delhi High Court DK Upadhyay on the phone while extinguishing the fire of Justice Verma.
Later, the police commissioner sent pictures and videos of cash getting cash while extinguishing the fire at Yashwant Verma’s residence. Sources said that the commissioner has also told the committee’s names to the officers of the police, who sent information, photos and videos about the cash getting cash while extinguishing the fire of Justice Verma.
Earlier, Devesh Mahala, Deputy Commissioner of New Delhi District, also arrived at 3 in the day to record the statement. It is being told that the Deputy Commissioner also recorded his statement and left from there at 8 pm after about 5 hours.
To investigate the matter, the CJI constituted a three -member internal inquiry committee of Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court GS Sandhawalia and Karnataka High Court Judge Justice Anu Shivraman. Sources said that the committee will soon call Justice Verma to record the statement.
