On International Yoga Day, mass yoga practice took place in Janjgir-Champa. Minister O.P. Choudhary gave the message of yoga, tree plantation and health awareness.

Raipur. On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day, a district level mass yoga practice program was organized at the Jajwalya Dev Dwar complex of Bhima Talab located at Janjgir-Champa district headquarters. A large number of public representatives, officers-employees, students, representatives of social organizations and common citizens participated enthusiastically in the program.

On this occasion, Finance Minister of the state and Minister in-charge of the district, Shri O.P. Chaudhary was present as the chief guest. He wished all the people of the district on International Yoga Day and described yoga as the basis of a healthy life.

Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary told the global importance of yoga

Addressing the program, Finance Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary said that due to the continuous efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Yoga has got a new recognition globally. Today many countries of the world are adopting this precious heritage of Indian culture. He said that Yoga is an excellent example of the thinking of “development as well as heritage”. It is playing an important role in giving respect to India’s ancient knowledge tradition on the global stage.

Minister Shri Chaudhary said that at present diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and other lifestyle related diseases are increasing rapidly. Unbalanced diet, stress and irregular routine are having a serious impact on health. In such a situation, instead of waiting for the disease, people should be aware of their health in advance. He said that many serious diseases can be prevented by regular yoga, naturopathy and adopting a balanced lifestyle.

Yoga provides mental balance and positive energy

The Finance Minister said that Yoga is not limited to physical health only, but it is also an effective medium to develop mental peace, self-discipline and positive thinking. Yoga inspires a person to live a stress-free life and makes his personality balanced. He urged all citizens to make yoga a part of their daily routine and contribute to building a healthy, fit and prosperous society.

Malkhamb player Dimpy Singh’s talent honored

During the Yoga Day program, young Malkhamb player Dimpy Singh from village Kutrabod of Pamgarh development block attracted everyone’s attention with his brilliant performance. Impressed by his talent and hard work, Minister in charge Shri O.P. Choudhary announced to provide an assistance amount of Rs 25 thousand from voluntary donation item. He also assured all possible support for the bright future of the player.

Saplings planted under ‘One tree in mother’s name’ campaign

After the conclusion of the yoga program, Minister in-charge Shri Choudhary planted saplings in the Bhima Pond complex under the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign. During this, he gave the message of environmental protection, increasing greenery and creating a clean environment for the coming generations. He also appealed to the people to plant more and more trees.

Janjgir-Champa district got the gift of three new ambulances

On the occasion of World Yoga Day, the district also got an important achievement in the field of health facilities. Minister in charge Shri O.P. Chaudhary flagged off three new ambulances provided for Navagarh, Pamgarh and Akaltara development blocks. The operation of these new ambulances will enable emergency health services to be provided more quickly and effectively to people living in rural and remote areas. This is expected to further strengthen the health system.
