On International Yoga Day, a grand mass yoga practice took place in Kanker. Thousands of people including Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan did yoga and gave the message of healthy life.
Raipur. On the occasion of 12th International Yoga Day, district level mass yoga practice program was organized in Kanker district. In this program organized in New Community Hall Kanker complex, a large number of citizens showed their commitment towards yoga by practicing yoga together.
State Commerce, Industry and Labor Minister Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan participated in the program as the chief guest. He practiced various yoga postures with thousands of people including public representatives, officers, employees, students, ex-servicemen, NCC and NSS cadets.
On this occasion, MLA Kanker Mr. Asharam Netam, Municipality President Mr. Arun Kaushik, former MP Mr. Mohan Mandavi, Food Corporation of India member Mr. Haldhar Sahu, Incharge Collector and District Panchayat CEO Mr. Haresh Mandavi, DFO Mr. Raunak Goyal and many public representatives and officers were present.
Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan told the importance of yoga
Addressing the program after the group yoga practice, Minister Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan said that yoga and spirituality are invaluable heritage of India’s ancient culture, which the whole world is adopting today. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has played an important role in giving global recognition to Yoga.
He said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai is making continuous efforts to build a healthy and happy society. Yoga is a powerful medium for the physical and mental development of a person and with its regular practice many types of diseases and disorders can be avoided.
Minister Shri Dewangan said that due to modern lifestyle, increasing busyness and lack of time, people’s daily routine has been affected, due to which health related problems are increasing. In such times, yoga has emerged as the most effective solution towards a healthy life. He called upon all people to make yoga a part of their daily routine and take a pledge to contribute towards building a drug-free India.
MLA Asharam Netam appealed to do yoga regularly
In the program, MLA Shri Asharam Netam also informed the people about the importance of yoga. He said that Yoga is very essential for every person’s life and it should be included in daily life. He said that regular practice of yoga keeps the body healthy, mental balance is maintained and the person can live life with positive energy. The MLA urged the citizens to do yoga themselves and inspire others to do the same. He said that yoga is the most effective means to maintain a healthy lifestyle in the present times. Yoga not only improves physical health but also provides mental peace and confidence. On this occasion, Shri Mahesh Jaine also addressed the people present and appealed to make yoga an integral part of life.
Yoga instructors practiced various asanas and pranayam
Group yoga practice was conducted in the New Community Hall premises at seven in the morning under the guidance of yoga instructors Mr. Mohan Senapati, Mr. Upeshwar Thakur and Mr. Kush Sahu. The participants performed various yoga asanas including Ardhachakrasana, Tadasana, Bhujangasana, Shavasana, Vajrasana, Trikonasana, Uttanapadasana, Katichkrasana, Ardhakatichkrasana, Ustrasana, Dandasana, Bhadrasana, Uttanamandukasana, Setu Dandasana, Pawanmuktasana and Makarasana. Along with this, important pranayams like Nadi Shodhan, Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom and Bhramari were also practiced collectively in the pranayam session.
Yoga programs held in schools, panchayats and institutions across the district
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, mass yoga practice programs were organized not only at the district headquarters, but also in all the district panchayats, urban bodies, educational institutions and other government and non-government organizations of the district. Councilor Mrs. Ugeshwari Uike, Mrs. Shakuntala Jain, Mr. Dilip Jaiswal, Mr. Raja Devnani, Mr. Pappu Motwani, Mr. Raja Pandey, Mr. Sanjay Sinha, Mr. Sanju Gopal Sahu, Mr. Dinesh Rajak, Mrs. Vijay Lakshmi Kaushik, SDM Kanker Mr. Arun Verma and a large number of senior citizens, officers, employees and students were present in the program.
