Rajya Sabha MP and National Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party Sudhanshu Trivedi has retaliated on the statement made by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee about the Waqf law. Talking to reporters in Indore, Trivedi said that Mamata Banerjee said that Waqf law will not be implemented in West Bengal is a direct insult to the Constitution of India.
He said that no state can refuse to implement the law passed by the Central Government in India’s constitutional system. If Mamata Banerjee says so, then it proves that she has no respect for Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s Constitution. The BJP MP also clarified that the Waqf law is made under complete legal and constitutional process and questioning it is like challenging the spirit of the Constitution.
Mamta government has become a bond of fierce elements
Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that Mamata Banerjee’s government has now become hostage to those fierce and criminal elements, with which she started power. Now the situation has become that Mamata Banerjee cannot do anything by wishing. This reflects their political compulsion. In India’s constitutional system, no state can refuse to implement the law passed by the Center.
India alliance also targeted
Trivedi also targeted the Indie alliance of opposition parties and said that if power comes in the hands of the coalition, then both the constitution and democracy of the country may be in danger. Trivedi’s statement has come at a time when protests are going on in many states regarding Waqf law. Violent protests have also been seen in Murshidabad district of West Bengal.
