Tea
In India, tea or chai is a comforting blend of water, milk, sugar, and tea leaves, often enriched with spices such as cardamom and black pepper. The preparation typically starts by simmering tea leaves in water, followed by the addition of milk and spices, allowing everything to brew for 5–10 minutes.
Sugar is mixed in toward the end, and the tea is boiled until it reaches a deep colour, then strained and poured into a cup. Besides the classic milk-based chai, Indians also enjoy a variety of floral and light teas made from different leaves.
