Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will perform the Bhoomi Pujan of the first phase of Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor on May 3. This initiative clearly outlines the strategy to pursue infrastructure, industry and urban development in an integrated manner in the state. Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor (IPEC) will prove important in establishing Madhya Pradesh as a strong industrial base and ideal investment destination. The program will showcase the corridor’s features, potential and regional impacts through short films.
What will be the benefit of Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor?
This corridor is being developed as a well-planned industrial axis connecting the Super Corridor located near Indore Airport with the Pithampur Investment Region. Through this, not only will industrial units get better connectivity, but logistics, transportation and market access will also become more effective. This project will create an organized and efficient environment for investment by integrating the industrial clusters developing in the Indore region.

Pithampur investment region, logistics hub, textile and manufacturing units will get integrated connectivity through Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor. This will make the production and distribution system more effective and the operation process for industries will be simpler. This project will also prove helpful in strengthening investment flow in the state and increasing employment opportunities.
Key Features of the Project
- Under the project, a road of approximately 20.28 km length is being developed from Super Corridor to Pithampur Investment Area.
- Provision has been made for planned development in approximately 1316 hectare area, for which a total of Rs 2360 crore will be spent. The cost has been determined.
- Under the infrastructure, 75 meter wide main road and the buffer zone to be developed on both its sides will make this corridor expandable as per future requirements.
- This corridor will make industrial transportation more convenient and timely by establishing effective connectivity between National Highway-47 and National Highway-52. Also, this project will provide a new direction to balanced urbanization and infrastructure based development in Indore region.
