Indigo is going to stop flights on this route, decision due to war between America and Iran

Indigo has taken a big decision amid the ongoing tension and airspace crisis between America and Iran. The airline is going to temporarily stop all its flights to Manchester from 31 August 2026. After this decision, the airline will return one of the six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft leased from Norse Atlantic Airways.

According to the airline, tensions in the Middle East, expensive ATF and foreign exchange fluctuations have increased the costs significantly. Indigo said that this decision is temporary. All other long distance flights will continue to operate as before. The airline said that affected passengers will be provided alternative travel arrangements or refund facilities. Flight operations to Manchester were started in July last year.

The airline will also return the Dreamliner aircraft

Due to stoppage of flights, Indigo will return one of its six big ‘Dreamliner’ aircraft taken on lease to the company from which it had taken it. The airline took these aircraft from Norse Atlantic Airways in 2025. These planes were being used in long distance flights to major cities of Europe.
