Kathmandu: India has announced to build 14 new schools in eight districts of Nepal which were badly destroyed in the earthquake. Financial assistance has also been announced for this. This agreement has been signed between the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and the Education Ministry of Nepal. India will give a grant of Rs 56.02 crore for this project. These new schools will be built in Gorkha, Nuwakot, Dhading, Dolakha, Kathmandu, Kabrepalanchok, Ramechhap and Sindhupalchok districts. Let us tell you that in the massive earthquake that occurred in 2015, about 9,000 people lost their lives in Nepal and caused huge devastation.

According to the information, these schools will be built with earthquake-resistant technology. The project also includes classrooms, furniture and separate toilet facilities for boys and girls. It is part of India’s ‘Post-Earthquake Reconstruction’ project. Even before this, India has built 70 schools and libraries of Tribhuvan University under this project. The objective of this initiative is to ensure India’s participation in the socio-economic development and disaster management of Nepal, being a neighboring country. Since that earthquake, India has been at the forefront of Nepal’s reconstruction work.
