New Delhi, India – India has strongly condemned the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for its ‘malicious, biased, and false’ anti-India references made during its Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Baghdad.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated on Monday that the OIC has once again allowed itself to be used by Pakistan for its ‘bigoted agenda.’
The MEA categorically rejected the resolutions, emphasizing that the OIC has no standing to comment on India’s internal matters. It firmly reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of India, asserting that ‘politically motivated propaganda can never alter this reality.’ The statement highlighted significant economic growth, infrastructure development, tourism, and improved connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370, directly benefiting its people.
In stark contrast, India pointed to the ‘violence, repression, and brutality’ unleashed by Pakistan on civilian protesters in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), where human rights violations are rampant despite media blackouts. India stressed that the only unresolved issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir involve Pakistan vacating illegally occupied territories and ceasing cross-border terrorism.
The MEA also dismissed other ‘fabricated and hostile references,’ including insinuations of Islamophobia, as a ‘desperate attempt’ by Pakistan to divert international attention from its own severe record of minority persecution, sectarian violence, governance failures, and political instability. India expressed disappointment that the OIC’s repeated endorsement of Pakistan’s ‘malicious propaganda’ raises questions about its credibility, hoping for reform within the organization.
