IND vs NZ: Injured Kane Williamson to miss Mumbai Test match, confirms New Zealand Cricket

Injured Kane Williamson is set to miss the third and final Test match against India in Mumbai as confirmed by New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Tuesday (Oct 29).

Williamson, likely to travel to India for the final Test will now stay in his homeland and prepare for the England series during the summer. New Zealand currently lead the three-match Test series 2-0 and still retain a narrow chance of entering their second World Test Championship (WTC) final.

Williamson to miss Mumbai Test

“Kane continues to show good signs, but isn’t quite ready to jump on a plane and join us,” Gary Stead said in a release. “While things are looking promising, we think the best course of action is for him to stay in New Zealand and focus on the final part of his rehabilitation so he’ll be good to go for England.

“The England series is still a month away so taking the cautious approach now will ensure he is ready for the first Test in Christchurch.”
