Cesarean delivery has become normal these days in India. Jammu and Kashmir is a state where children are being delivered by cesarean in 90 percent of the cases. Apart from this, 87.7 percent deliveries in West Bengal and 84 percent deliveries in Telangana were done through C-section. This figure has come to light in the new report of the National Family Health Survey. According to this, cases of C-section delivery are increasing rapidly in India. This figure has increased from 21.5 to 27.5.

It is believed that a major reason behind this is the fear of normal delivery. But there are many other reasons due to which even in villages, women have started going to hospitals and demanding delivery by cesarean.

In this common language in the country, people call delivery by operation. In the year 2005-06 its figure was 8.5 percent and in 2015-16 it increased to 17.2 percent. After this, in 2019-21, 21.5 percent children were born through cesarean delivery. Know from experts what could be the reasons behind this and what things should be taken special care of.

What are the reasons behind this

TV9 had a special conversation with Dr. Swati Rai, gynecologist of Motherhood Hospital in Noida. Dr. Swati explained why women have to get their delivery done through C-section. Experts say that its rate should decrease with time because many new technologies have come to us. Still it is continuously increasing. He told that it has increased more in cities. He cited high risk and late pregnancy as the main reason for this.

According to him, in pregnancies with this condition, women have to undergo cesarean delivery. Experts say that due to career, home and many other reasons, most women conceive after the age of 35. There are many problems in this and when the time of delivery comes, they have to choose the cesarean method.
