This whole matter started on June 12. Jignesh left home on the night of June 11 and did not return. After this his wife lodged a missing report at Uttaran Police Station. A few hours after the report was filed, the family members started receiving threatening messages from Jignesh’s phone, which scared everyone. It was written in the message that if you want to see Jignesh alive, you will have to pay Rs 50 lakh, otherwise he will be killed.

After the threatening message, when a video of Jignesh came in which he was seen tied, the concern of the family and the police increased further. Considering the seriousness of the matter, Surat Police immediately formed special investigation teams. Investigation of digital evidence started with the help of cyber cell and technical experts. Investigation revealed that the last location of Jignesh’s mobile was in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

After this, the scope of investigation was extended to Madhya Pradesh and help was sought from the police there. But meanwhile, when the police closely looked at the video and other digital evidence sent by the accused, they noticed some irregularities. Police got an important clue that the video was not made in Ujjain, but at some secret place in Godhra, Gujarat. Based on this new information, police teams started intensive searches in the hotels and lodges of Godhra. Finally, on June 15, the police traced Jignesh to a hotel room in Godhra, where he was living comfortably. With this, this kidnapping drama that was going on for many days was exposed.

During interrogation, Jignesh confessed that he himself had created this entire drama to repay the loan. He left home on the night of June 11, left his scooter near Platinum Point in Surat, then took a rickshaw to the railway station and caught a train to Ujjain. During the train journey, he kept misleading the police by repeatedly switching his phone on and off. Meanwhile, he sent threatening messages to his wife and later went and hid in a hotel in Godhra.

The reason behind this entire conspiracy was the huge loss incurred in trading. Jignesh had already lost a huge amount in the stock market, when his family helped him by giving money. But he again invested money in high-risk options trading and this time he suffered a loss of Rs 50 to 60 lakh. To repay this debt, he created a false story of his kidnapping. Uttaran Police has registered a case against Jignesh under sections 212, 217 and 233 of the Indian Justice Code on charges of misleading the police and cheating.
