EPFO Portal Shutdown Update: If you are thinking of withdrawing advance money from your PF account this weekend or filing a claim for final settlement, then there is a very important news for you. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has decided to completely shut down the most important service of its official member portal for the next 3 days. If you go to the portal and submit a new claim within the next 72 hours, your work may get stuck. How long will the EPFO portal remain closed? (EPFO Portal Downtime Timings)
According to an official notice issued on EPFO’s Unified Member Portal, online services will be disrupted due to system upgrade. The portal will remain down from 00:00 PM on 26th June 2026 i.e. midnight today till 23:59 PM on 28th June 2026. The portal will become fully functional again from 00:00 am on June 29, 2026.
Which services will be affected?
Submitting a New Claim: You will not be able to file any new claim online for PF withdrawal or advance.
Processing of existing claims: The processing of claims that are already in the system will also be paused during this window.
What if PF claim has already been made?
EPFO has made it clear that those who have submitted their claims before this migration, they will not be cancelled. As soon as the system goes live again on June 29, work on them will start.
Why did EPFO take this decision?
EPFO is upgrading its technology infrastructure and database. The purpose of this ‘system migration’ is to make claims processing faster, safer and easier than before, so that in future, claims of crores of subscribers can be settled in a few days.
How to check your PF balance if EPFO portal is closed?
Use Umang App
- Download Umang App on your phone and login with the registered mobile number.
- Search by typing EPFO in the search bar.
- Go to ‘Employee Centric Services’ and select the option of ‘Track Claim’ or Passbook.
- Enter your UAN number and verify the details with the OTP received on your mobile.
EPFO verified WhatsApp service
EPFO now also provides information on WhatsApp through regional offices. You can get general information 24 hours by typing ‘Hello’ on the WhatsApp number of your regional office. You can message on 8178457507 for Central Delhi office and 9717547174 for South Delhi office. There are different numbers for other areas.
Know your balance by just giving a missed call
If your mobile number is registered with UAN, give a missed call to 9966044425 from your phone. After two rings the call will be disconnected automatically and the entire balance of your account will be in front of you through SMS.
Easy way to send SMS
From your registered mobile number type a message: EPFOHO UAN and send it to 7738299899. This service is available in many regional languages including Hindi, English.
Useful advice for PF subscribers
If you do not have a serious financial emergency, then the wisest decision would be to wait for the new system to go live on June 29, 2026.
