Today is a very important day for Noida International Airport. Today, for the first time, flight trials will be conducted at the airport. After this, if the flight lands successfully, then this airport will be opened for passengers in the month of April in the year 2025.

Today, the Airport Authority’s aircraft will land at Noida Airport for trial and then it will also fly for about one and a half to two hours. The flight from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport will reach Jewar site at 12 noon and then technical assessment will be done.

What will be checked in the trial?

Noida International Airport Limited said, this flight will fly for one and a half hours over Noida Airport to record all the necessary data. This data will play an important role in ascertaining whether the airport is fully ready to open for passengers or not. The flight trials starting from today at Noida International Airport will continue till December 15. Both landing and take off will be done during the trial.

Noida International Airport Limited said that preparations like runway performance, airspace coordination, communication protocol and emergency response will also be assessed during the trial. The data collected after this trial will be sent to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for review.

How will airport operations begin?

NIL nodal officer Shailendra Bhatia said, our aim is to complete the trials by December 15, after which an application for aerodrome license will be made to start full operation of the airport. Senior IAS officer SP Goyal along with officials from Civil Aviation Ministry, DGCA, NIAL and Uttar Pradesh Civil Aviation Department will monitor the flight trials.

NIAL officials said that after this trial, airline partners like Akasa and Indigo Airlines can also conduct their own trials. This airport is spread over 1,334 hectares, this airport is being built in four phases with an investment of Rs 29,650 crore. Also, Chief Executive Officer of Noida International Airport, Christoph Schnellman T said that after the completion of the fourth phase of the airport, 7 crore passengers will be able to travel at this airport throughout the year.
