Former Australian captain Steve Waugh has demanded action against South African cricket. South Africa has announced the team for its New Zealand tour during the ongoing series against India. South Africa has sent an unknown team for this tour, out of total 14 players, there are seven players who have never played any Test. Besides, the captain has also been made by a player who is going to debut in the same series.
Many former cricketers are angry at this attitude of South Africa. Steve Waugh is also one of them, he said that I think he does not care. The South African Cricket Board is showing its future, they are keeping their players at home and sending new kids. If I were a New Zealander, I would not play cricket with them.
Steve Waugh angry at many teams
Steve Waugh said that I don’t know why he is playing, are you showing disrespect towards New Zealand cricket. Steve Waugh said that this shows how teams are changing themselves, just because of the T20 league. West Indies has not been choosing its best Test team for the last two years, there Nicholas Pooran is a batsman who can play better Test cricket but he does not play at all.
Not only this, the former Australian captain said that Pakistan has also not come to Australia with its best Test team. In such a situation, it shows that the teams are not paying attention to Test cricket and ICC should pay attention to this. Because like big teams, all other teams should also take Test cricket seriously.
Let us tell you that South Africa has not sent its senior and famous players to the Test series because of the South Africa T-20 League being held at home. South Africa wants its big players to play the league, so that star cricketers from other countries also stay connected here. This is the reason why the South Africa Board is being criticized a lot.
