According to the information, the police of Ludhiana Police Station Division Number 5 had been receiving information for a few days that a sex racket was being run in a hotel here. Often some people are seen coming and going to the hotel here with local and foreign girls. Even rooms are rented out to people on fake IDs. Last Friday also, the police received information from the local people that some people had entered the hotel with a foreign girl.
After this, late night the police raided the hotel located in front of the gate of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. From there, two men and two women were caught red-handed while celebrating. During interrogation, it was revealed that the wife of a man is an IAS officer in Punjab. When the police called him and informed him about this matter, he asked him to register a case against the accused. The police have taken the accused into custody.
At present the police is interrogating these accused. Besides, efforts are also being made to trace other people associated with the sex racket. Police suspect that such rackets are being run not only in this hotel but in many other hotels too. Further investigation in the matter is ongoing.
Sex racket busted in Garhshankar
Earlier, a sex racket was busted by the police in Garhshankar also. The police had arrested 11 persons, including 6 women, involved in the sex racket business. SHO Baljinder Singh Malli said that as per the guidelines of higher officials, as part of the campaign launched against bad elements, Inspector Kuldeep Singh along with the police had blocked Banga Chowk of the city.
11 people related to sex racket arrested
During this, the informer informed that Rajeshwar Singh alias Roki, son of Kuldeep Singh, resident of Garhshankar is running an illegal business in his house along with Manjeet Kaur alias Rama, wife of Harmesh Kumar, resident of Mubarakpur. If a raid is conducted now, many men and women may be found in objectionable condition in his house. After receiving the information, the said house was raided with the help of women police and 11 persons including 6 women were found in objectionable condition. The police arrested him on the spot.
