‘I was thinking, «I have to push, I have to push!»’ – Enea Bastianini

Enea Bastianini claimed victory in the MotoGP Thai GP Sprint race. The rider took the lead right at the start in Buriram and gradually strengthened his position.

Even being chased by three competitors like Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati), Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), and Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) didn’t unsettle Bastianini – who won with a dominant performance.

The Italian commented: ‘The approach to the race was difficult, but after the start I was first, and in my mind I was thinking: «I have to push, I have to push!» At the end I gained some margin on the other riders, and they remained the same for all the race. It’s beautiful to be again on the top step’.

With Márquez crossing the line in fourth, Bastianini managed to gain a significant amount of points on his rival in the battle for third place in the Championship.
