I am going to jail… take care of my parents, CM Kejriwal's emotional appeal to Delhiites before surrender

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made an emotional appeal to the people of Delhi on Friday. Before surrendering in the Supreme Court on June 2, Kejriwal said that I am in jail to save the country, I will serve you all from there but take care of my parents. He said that I will certainly not come among you but you don’t worry, I will keep doing all your work.

He told the people of Delhi in a press conference, whether I am inside or outside…I will not let any work of Delhi stop. Your free electricity, mohalla clinics, free medicines and treatment in hospitals, bus travel for women, 24 hours electricity and many other works will continue. When I return from jail, I will also start giving one thousand rupees every month to every mother and sister.

I will have to surrender the day after tomorrow, I don’t know when this time…

Kejriwal said that the Supreme Court had given me 21 days to campaign. Tomorrow these 21 days are getting over. I have to surrender the day after tomorrow. The day after tomorrow I will go back to jail. I don’t know how long these people will keep me in jail this time but my spirits are high. I am going to jail to save the country from dictatorship. I am proud of this. They tried to break me in many ways, tried to bow me down, tried to silence me but they did not succeed. When I was in jail now, they tortured me in many ways.

I have been a diabetic patient for 20 years and have been taking insulin for 10 years

They stopped my medicines. I have been suffering from diabetes for 20 years. I have been taking insulin for the last 10 years. I have to take injections in my stomach four times a day. In jail, they did not give me insulin injections for many days. My sugar level went from 300 to 325. If the sugar level remains so high for so many days, the kidneys and liver get damaged. I don’t know what these people wanted. Why did they do this?

This time it might torment me more

Delhi CM said that I was in jail for 50 days. In these 50 days, I lost 6 kg of weight. When I went to jail, my weight was 70 kg. Today it is 64 kg. Even after being released from jail, my weight is not increasing. Doctors are saying that this can also be a sign of some major disease in the body. There is a need to get a test done. The ketone level in my urine has also increased a lot. I will surrender the day after tomorrow. I will leave my house at around 3:00 pm to surrender. Maybe this time they will torture me more. But I will not bow down. You take care of yourself. I worry about you a lot in jail. If you are happy, then your Kejriwal will also be happy.

‘Take care of my parents, pray for them’

Kejriwal said that I have always fulfilled my duty as a son of your family. Today I want to ask something from you for my family. My parents are very old. My mother is very ill. I worry a lot about her in jail. Take care of my parents after I am gone. Pray for them. Pray to God. Prayer has great power.

‘God willing, your son will come back very soon’

Kejriwal further said that if you pray for my mother every day, she will definitely stay healthy. My wife Sunita is very strong. She has supported me in every difficult time of life. When difficult times come, the whole family stays united. You all have supported me a lot in difficult times. If something happens to me to save the country. Even if I lose my life, do not be sad. It is because of your prayers that I am alive today and your blessings will protect me in the future too. In the end, I just want to say that if God wishes, your son will come back very soon.

On May 10, he got interim bail from the Supreme Court
