A shocking news has come out from Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. Here the woman who died in papers continued to fight to prove herself alive for 29 years. But this struggle of life ended at death. The woman made rounds of the police stations, tehsils and officers’ offices for the identity of her existence and ancestral land by the age of 98. But the eyes of the system opened when they said goodbye to the world.

Nidha Singh, father of Vidya Devi of Mathura district, in 1975, named her 12.45 acres of land in the name of her daughter. Nidha Singh died after about one and a half years. Vidya Devi lived in her in -laws Aligarh. 20 years later, relatives of the maternal side conspired with the revenue workers. Showing Vidya Devi dead and Nidha Singh alive in the documents, on 19 May 1996, it got it registered in the name of Dinesh, Suresh and Omprakash in the revenue records.

Government offices kept cutting

After several months, Vidya Devi got a glimpse of it. After this, he started a fight to prove himself alive and the second will. DM wandered from SP to police station and tehsil office. She came to Mathura from Aligarh with her son and showed the proof of being alive from the authorities, but there was no action.

Case filed in 2025

After the 29 -year struggle, the SDM Mont investigated after the intervention of the Women’s Commission and the high officials. On the application of Vidya Devi’s son Sunil, an FIR was lodged in the police station Surir in the case of fraud on 18 February 2025. By then the price of land had increased to 19 crores. At the age of 98, Vidyadevi died on March 18 in the village Badon in Aligarh, in -laws, at the age of 98 in the shock of failing to prove herself alive.

Arrest after death

15 days after the death of Vidya Devi, the police arrested two accused Dinesh and Suresh and sent them to jail. The search for the third accused Omprakash continues.
