The 7-seater family car space in India is getting incredibly aggressive. Hyundai has been studying the Indian three-row market closely and is now ready to introduce its own version of a highly popular Kia MPV. We are talking about the upcoming Hyundai Neira. Recently showcased at the Indonesia Motor Show 2026 as a concept, the Neira is officially set to make its way to Indian shores.

The Neira will serve as the sister vehicle to the Kia Carens and Clavis. It will aim directly at the Maruti Ertiga and XL6, while serving as a premium, feature-rich alternative for buyers considering the Mahindra XUV 7XO.

Exterior Design

In terms of dimensions and overall shape, the Neira borrows its core structure from the Kia Carens but wears a distinct Hyundai identity. At the front, expect to see the signature wide Hyundai grille accompanied by sharp, triangular-shaped LED DRLs and a connected light bar.

The side profile remains upright and boxy to maximize third-row headroom, though it rides on completely different dual-tone alloy wheels. Towards the rear, the Neira gets a modern connected LED tail lamp setup, heavily inspired by Hyundai’s global design language, complete with prominent Hyundai badging.

Interior & Features

Step inside, and the shared DNA becomes much more evident. The Hyundai Neira will sport an identical dashboard layout and cabin structure as the Carens Clavis. However, Hyundai is expected to offer distinct interior color schemes and upholstery options to give it a more premium, lounge-like feel.

In typical Hyundai fashion, it is expected to be loaded to the brim. Expect a massive dual-screen setup for the infotainment and digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, manual boss mode, and rear tray tables. Safety will also be a priority, with six airbags standard and Level-2 ADAS expected on the top trims.

Powertrain & CNG Option

Sources confirm that the Neira will be offered in an ICE (internal combustion engine) avatar. It is expected to share its powertrain lineup with the Creta, meaning you get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel, and a punchy 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. But here is the real game-changer, Hyundai Neira is expected to get a factory-fitted CNG option!

Hyundai is expected to reveal this upcoming 7-seater by the end of this year, and a launch could take place at the Bharat Global Mobility Expo 2027. Since it shares its underpinnings with Kia, the Neira will be priced competitively but at a slight premium. We expect the pricing to range between Rs 12lakh and Rs 22 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
