New 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 launched in India at ₹55.7 lakh. The large 84.0kWh battery offers an ARAI-certified range of 690 km. It includes new design, updated interior and better features.

Noe 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been launched in India. Its ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 55.7 lakh. This car is built on Hyundai’s E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular) platform and has been given many upgrades in terms of performance, technology and safety. This car comes with obsidian black cabin theme. There are four color options for the exterior – Titan Grey, Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl and Optic White.

Big battery and great range

Its biggest upgrade is the new 84.0kWh battery pack. The company claims that it will provide ARAI-certified driving range of up to 690 kilometers. The carmaker says, “This improvement will provide greater convenience to customers, reduce range anxiety and make long distance travel easier than ever.” However, Hyundai has not yet released the official power and torque figures of the upcoming model in India. In the global market, the version with 84.0kWh battery pack produces 229bhp of power and 350Nm of torque.

better styling than before

On the outside, the new 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 gets new front and rear bumpers, new skid plates, redesigned alloy wheels, new high-tech V-garnish lighting design and a new rear spoiler. However, its signature parametric pixel designed lighting has been kept the same.

The interior of the car now looks more modern. It has a new three-spoke leather steering wheel with 4-dot pixel light design and heating function. Dual 12.3-inch display screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster remain the same as before. The wireless charging pad has also been redesigned and now has physical buttons for the heated and ventilated seats.

New features and technology

Talking about the features, the new Ioniq 5 has features like Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA), Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Active Sound Design (ASD) and remote immobilization through Hyundai BlueLink. There is also new in-car payment integration. Apart from this, the updated SUV also comes with safety features like Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist – Rear and Parking Distance Warning (PDW – Side).

Commenting on the launch of the new Hyundai Ioniq 5, Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a true testament to our vision of redefining electric mobility.” He further said that this car has won the prestigious ‘World Car of the Year’ title along with many global awards and has also been recognized as ‘Green Car of the Year’ in the ‘Indian Car of the Year’ awards. Ioniq 5 sets new standards in design, technology and sustainability. Tarun Garg also informed that with the new Ioniq 5, the company is building on this strong foundation by enhancing the driving range, technology and everyday convenience. These improvements further strengthen the appeal of the IONIQ 5 as a premium and future-ready electric SUV.
