Hyderabad-Hubballi flight diverted to Bengaluru after technical snag, was air-bound for 4 hours

New Delhi: A Hubballi-bound Fly91 flight had to be diverted to Bengaluru after the plane suffered a mid-air technical glitch. The plane had taken off from Hyderabad. It was forced to remain air-borne for around 4 hours, before it finally landed in Bengaluru.

Flight circled around several airports, seeking permission to land

The Fly91 Airlines flight, IC3401 took off from Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 3 pm on Sunday. It was supposed to land in Hubballi at 4:30 pm with a flying time of 1.5 hours, approximately. However mid-air as the plane approached the Hubballi airport, it suffered a technical glitch.

Following the glitch, the flight remained airborne for 4 hours. It circled over several areas like Mundgod, Davanagere, and Shivamogga, while the ground staff and the technical team made efforts for a safe landing at any of the nearby airports.

After repeated attempts, the flight was finally diverted to Bengaluru. It finally managed to land at the Kempegowda International Airport in the city at around 7:30 pm, nearly 3 hours past its original landing time in Hubballi.

Passengers left shaken

Following the experience, the passengers onboard the flight were left completely shaken. Some were seen in tears, when the plane landed. They were also seen praying inside the aircraft.

The family members of the passengers onboard the ill-fated plane, expressed anger at the entire incident. They said that the airlines failed to provide any details regarding the technical glitch or the plane being diverted to Bengaluru to them.
