The launch of two cars of Maruti Suzuki in the year 2024 was awaited for a long time. Out of these, the company has launched the 4th generation Swift in May, while the 4th generation Dezire has been launched recently. Now the discussion is that the company can introduce hybrid technology in Swift in the Indian market.
What will happen in Swift Hybrid?
The company itself has not said anything clearly on whether Maruti Suzuki is bringing a hybrid version of Swift in India or not. But it is mentioned in many media reports that the company is working on it secretly. It is being tested in India. However, the 4th generation Maruti Swift has been launched in India in petrol, petrol-CNG or flexi fuel options.
If we talk about the hybrid model of Swift, the model that has been spotted on Indian roads also has ADAS technology. Therefore, there is also a hope that Maruti is not going to bring an electric version of this popular hatchback car. ADAS technology provides many automation related features to any car.

How different will the hybrid Swift be from the normal Swift?
Now, if you look at Maruti Suzuki’s normal Swift and hybrid Swift from outside, you will hardly notice the difference, but the real change is inside the car. However, you can see the ‘Smart Hybrid’ badge at the back. The company can give you a 12V mild hybrid setup in this. With this, the power of the car can reach 82 bhp and torque 112 Newton meters, because like a normal car, it will have a 1.2 liter Z-series petrol engine.
The regular Swift has a 1.2 liter Z series engine. It gives power of 80 bhp and torque of 112 Newton meters. The company also offers 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox in this car. Whereas the hybrid model can have a 5-speed CVT. In any hybrid model, an electric motor is also attached with the engine, this gives extra power to the car.

Hybrid car is better than normal car in terms of mileage. It reduces fuel consumption. Therefore, the burden of fuel on people’s pockets is reduced.
