According to Excise Commissioner Dr. Adarsh Singh, a revenue of Rs 41,252.24 crore was received in the year 2022-23, which increased to Rs 4,318.23 crore in the year 2023-24, ie 10.47 percent. The revenue increase rate in the financial year 2024-25 was 14.76 percent, which is more than 10.47 percent from the previous year.
English liquor and beer will be available at the same shop
He said that the way the Excise Department took action against illegal liquor last year, no untoward incident happened due to alcohol. He informed that under the new excise policy, English liquor and beer will be sold at the same shop. Apart from this, the government has also decided to open composit shops.
