Before the resignation, a high-level meeting was held at the CM’s official residence ‘Kaveri’, where Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar was seen paying respect to Siddaramaiah. Shivakumar’s supporters gathered outside his residence in Bengaluru and distributed sweets in the hope of him becoming the CM. At the same time, in Kalaburagi, members of the Indian Youth Congress performed a special puja at the Sri Sharan Basaveshwara Temple, praying that if there is a change in the leadership, Priyank Kharge should be made the Deputy Chief Minister. It is being said that the Congress has replaced Siddaramaiah so that in the coming times, Congress government will be formed once again in Karnataka.
