A 24-year-old man allegedly injected HIV-infected blood with a 22-year-old woman after his marriage was cancelled. This incident happened on March 11. The accused suddenly reached the victim’s house and forcefully injected her with HIV infected blood.
According to the police, the accused and the victim are relatives. The victim’s parents had earlier fixed their daughter’s marriage with him. Since the parents of the accused were already infected with HIV, the woman’s parents also got her tested for HIV in September last year.
A police officer said that after she was found HIV positive in the test, the woman’s father decided not to marry his daughter to her. The accused did this thinking that the woman would marry him and live with him forever.
Police said that based on the complaint of the woman’s father, a case of attempt to murder was registered against the accused at Pocharam IT Corridor police station and he was arrested. The woman was admitted in a hospital Further investigation is ongoing.
