A group of boys allegedly killed an 18-year-old girl in Chennai. These boys hit a two-wheeler with their car, due to which the girl died. This whole incident started after a fight in a private bar in Chennai. Police have registered a case and arrested three accused, who have been identified as Balamurugan (21), Joshua (19) and Kishore Kumar (19). The girl who died was Yancey (18), a Sri Lankan refugee living in Villupuram district. According to police, Yancey and his friends were dancing at a private bar when they got into a fight with another group of boys present there. After this the bouncers intervened and pacified the matter.
But the debate between the two groups continued even outside the bar. The bouncers once again intervened and asked both parties to go home. After this, Yancey and his friends were going on a two-wheeler when they saw another group in a car. Yancey’s friends allegedly threw stones at the car, police said. This made the boys in the car angry. They allegedly chased the two-wheeler and hit it hard. The collision was so strong that Yancey was thrown away from the car and died on the spot.
Yancey’s 17 year old friend was seriously injured in this accident. He has been admitted to the hospital. Yancey’s family has demanded strict punishment for all the accused. Authorities have also sealed that private bar because people under 18 years of age were allowed entry there. The police have formed a special team which is searching for the remaining absconding accused.
