The latest Honda Passport has been unveiled, showcasing a robust SUV design with its off-road Trailsport variant. This fourth-generation model is larger and more upright than its predecessor, signalling Honda’s intent to market it as a versatile, adventure-ready vehicle.

The exterior of the new Passport has undergone significant changes. It now boasts a more defined SUV look with a boxy front end. The headlamps are rectangular, complemented by a flat clamshell hood featuring a wide black hood scoop. The grille is upright with two slats and prominently displays the Honda logo. A large air dam sits atop the front bumper, accompanied by a faux aluminium skid plate beneath it.
On the sides, the SUV maintains its rugged appeal with slightly flared fenders and plastic cladding around the wheel arches. Black door handles provide contrast. The ground clearance is higher than before, enhancing off-road capabilities with improved approach angles due to a shorter front overhang. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with 31-inch tyres.
Interior and Features of the Honda Passport
Inside, the Passport reflects typical Honda design principles with well-organised controls and ergonomic features. The dashboard sports an all-black theme, while seat upholstery and door pads offer contrasting shades based on the variant. A 12.4-inch infotainment screen takes centre stage, providing off-road specific data alongside a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
Additional features include dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera system, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. These elements contribute to an enhanced driving experience for both everyday commutes and adventurous outings.
Powertrain and Off-Road Capabilities
Underneath its hood lies a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine producing 285hp, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine is familiar across various Honda models globally but lacks any electrification options. The Trailsport variant stands out with its unique suspension setup tailored for off-road adventures.
While this SUV targets North American consumers exclusively, Indian buyers can look forward to the launch of the new Amaze sedan on December 4, 2024. This strategic focus highlights Honda’s commitment to catering to diverse markets with region-specific offerings.
