After Shagun Sharma’s exit, Azhar J Malik’s journey has ended. The actor, who played the role of Raunak Virani, left KSBKBT 2 because of creative direction and prior commitments. Azhar revealed that his character was going in a ‘negative direction’, and his shooting dates were clashing as he had another project with Dharma Productions. That said, the actor refrained from divulging more details about his film.

Azhar Malik essayed the role of and Gauri Pradhan aka Karan and Nandini’s son Raunak. Speaking to ETimes, the actor revealed why he decided to exit Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. “Because of how the character was written, things were going in a very negative direction. At the same time, I had another project with Dharma Productions going on and the dates were clashing,” he said.

The actor added that the track was not just negative, it had become dark. In fact, he and the production house felt that he looked too young for Raunak’s character . And that’s the reason Azhar said it made sense for both sides to take a step back. According to him, “Sometimes it’s not about the role, it’s about whether you and the character fit the space and timing that the story demands.”
Azhar further refused to share more details about his upcoming project with Dharma Productions. The actor shared that he has to travel out of the country for shooting with the crew. Despite his departure from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, the actor said he was truly fortunate to be associated with an iconic show. Expressing gratitude, the actor admitted that he will cherish being a part of the show and shooting with most known faces of Indian television.
