Himesh Reshammiya Credits Salman Khan, David Dhawan for Shaping His Film Career

Mumbai, Nov 2: Music composer Himesh Reshammiya has openly acknowledged Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and director David Dhawan for their pivotal roles in his long-standing career.

Reshammiya recently shared his journey on film trade expert Komal Nahta’s ‘Game Changers: The Music Series’ podcast.

He revealed that while he was content and successful as a television producer, it was Salman Khan who encouraged him to venture into cinema and film music. “If Salman Bhai had not given me a break, I might never have pursued a career in film music. I was doing well in television serials, and my songs were already superhits among my friends and listeners,” Reshammiya stated.

He recounted how, at one point, he was actively involved in four television serials, composing music for them and even considering directing films himself. The turning point came with the film ‘Tere Naam’, where he composed the music. “We envisioned the character in ‘Tere Naam’ to be intense, much like Devdas. This approach shaped the film’s music and direction. It underscores the importance of collaborative work,” he added, highlighting how these collaborations, especially with Salman Khan and David Dhawan, were instrumental in his transition and subsequent success in the film industry.
