The incident happened with Titus commuter train, which was going from Brahmanbaria towards Bhairab. The train had reached the station about one and a half hours late from its scheduled time, which had created an atmosphere of crowd and haste on the platform. During the journey, when the train slowly started moving from the station, the family was trying to get down. But the situation suddenly turned scary when both of them fell into the extremely narrow space between the train and the platform due to imbalance.
Decision in seconds: Father becomes shield, battle to save child
As soon as the accident happened, the father reacted without wasting a moment. He immediately picked up his child and held it tightly in his lap. After this he pressed himself against the platform wall with all his strength, so that there was no collision between his body and the moving train. During this time, about eight coaches of the train passed right over them. This scene was so horrifying that the people present on the platform were terrified and were in no position to do anything. But meanwhile the father kept his child safe with complete peace and restraint.

According to railway worker Falu Miya, the accident happened when the family was trying to get off the moving train. He told that the father immediately caught hold of his child and stuck himself to the wall, due to which a major disaster was averted.
