The director has given a shocking statement about the film Aankhen, directed by Vipul Shah. In an interview given to Rajshree Anuplagged on 16 March 2024, Vipul Shah said that Akshay was not going to say it before hearing the story of ‘Aankhen’.
Why didn’t Akshay Kumar want to do ‘eyes’?
In the interview, Vipul Shah told that when Akshay Kumar did not want to say the film Aankhen, then how did he do this film? Vipul Shah had said, ‘Akshay Khiladi was shooting for a film named 420, so he called me at night. One, he does not like to shoot at night. Still, he said that let’s go to my night on this excuse. And in the morning I have to refuse. So sitting, we went through the entire process again.

Vipul Shah further said, ‘In the midst of the story, Akshay went to give a shot of one of his films and then came back. Akshay came back and told me that when he went from here after hearing the story, he thought that he would come back and tell me but later he said yes to the film and also appeared excited to do it. After this, Akshay Kumar worked as a lead actor in films like Vipul Shah’s ‘Samay: The Race Against Time’, ‘Namaste London’ and ‘Action Replay’. Apart from this, films like ‘Singh Is King’ and ‘Holiday: A Soldier’ made in Vipul Shah’s production were also done by Akshay Kumar.

The film Aankhen, released on 5 April 2002, was directed by Vipul Shah and its producer was Gaurang Doshi. The film was the music of the late Adesh Srivastava and its songs were well liked. In the film, actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Aditya Pancholi were seen.
According to Sacnilk, the budget of the film Aankhen was 15 crores while its worldwide collection was Rs 29.44 crore and the film had a collection of 23.58 crores in India. This film was a box office, but later when it came on TV, it was very much liked.
