How to do Jal Neti safely – To do Jal Neti, first prepare a saline solution by dissolving half a teaspoon of salt in half a liter of lukewarm water. This mixture is then poured into the neti pot.

While sitting in Kagagasana, one should keep a distance of one and a half to two feet between the legs, bend at the waist and tilt the head to one side.

The spout of the neti pot is inserted into the upper nostril, and saline solution is slowly poured in, allowing it to flow out the opposite nostril.

Then this process is repeated on the other side. After cleaning, it is advisable to do exercises while standing to ensure that the remaining water, bacteria and mucus are removed from the nose.

Additionally, doing Kapalbhati Pranayama after Jal Neti helps in drying the nose thoroughly. It is also advised not to sleep immediately after Jal Neti to prevent water from reaching the lungs, which can increase the risk of infection.
